Welcome to Camden County’s Hearts and Hands for the Homeless

The Board of Commissioners have been working tirelessly to end homelessness in Camden County and we recognize the complexity of the issues across our region with the unsheltered. Because of this, our response has been diverse, and we have been actively supporting prevention for those who are
unhoused and rapid rehousing programs. We work closely with various homeless outreach teams that include people with lived experience and we even created our own outreach team within the Camden County Office on Mental Health and Addictions Services. We are especially proud of a new emergency
shelter we opened in Camden County that has served almost 100 unhoused men over the past year. Our work does not stop there as we have many more projects that are in the development stages.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is grateful for the many volunteers and donors who are helping the unhoused population here. The challenge, however, is that this well intended generosity can sometimes keep those in need from seeking help from the professionals working in our non-profit
community. We are asking our residents to continue their generosity but to direct it towards the agencies working to end homelessness every day. Hearts and Hands for the Homeless is a resource for your generosity so please check out the different agencies who can use your time, talents and resources
to end homelessness.

Thank you for your kindness and your desire to end homelessness in Camden County.

Sincerely,

Lou Cappelli, Jr.
County Commissioner Director
