VOADV often needs volunteers to help during dinner service at some of our shelters, collecting and donating clothes, food, toiletries and blankets, and creating small events to engage our clients at multiple of our locations (i.e. craft party or BBQ at different shelters).

NEW: food, blankets, toiletries, school supplies, items for a new apartment (pots, pans, dish soap, towels etc.), interview attire, backpacks. GENTLY USED: clothing, housewares.

What services do you provide to the homeless or to those at risk of homelessness?

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley operates 52 separate programs serving persons who are experiencing homelessness, seeking permanent housing, struggling with addictive behavior, coping with mental illness and developmental disabilities and returning to society from the criminal justice system.

What population do you serve?

Individuals and families that are homeless, in need of affordable housing or senior assistance, developmentally disabled, ex-offenders, experiencing addiction and domestic violence in the Delaware Valley region.

Anyone below 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.

We just ask that volunteers have a sense of apathy, understanding and to leave judgment at the door!

All of our volunteer opportunities can be found online at our website: voadv.org. We as an organization need to run background checks for all volunteers (at no cost to volunteer) to ensure safety for our clients. Once the background check has been completed, volunteers are able to register for volunteer opportunities.
