H.E.R.O. stands for: H symbolizes our assistance with finding emergency shelter/HOUSING and having HOPE; E stands for help with finding EMPLOYMENT options or EDUCATIONAL opportunities; R stands for RECOVERY; and O is for all of the OPPORTUNITIES we can help people find to suit their unique situations and individualized needs with focused case management services.
H.E.R.O. is concerned with helping individuals, families, and communities to enhance their individual and collective well-being. It aims to help people develop their skills and their ability to use their own resources and those of the community to resolve problems. Our focus is with individual and personal problems, but also with broader social issues such as poverty, unemployment, addiction and domestic violence.
H.E.R.O. provides case management for services relative to people seeking housing assistance or emergency shelter, food pantry programs, information about training programs for employment or educational opportunities, resources for addiction issues and recovery, assistance with obtaining state identification, and aid in understanding mental health services, legal services and veterans services that might be available to them. We strive to help the individual build a network that is supportive and effective for them and the unique and personal challenges they face.
