Volunteer

We are not in need of volunteers. We would welcome more social work students from Rutgers Camden so we can expand those services to other branch locations.

Donate

There are many people who use the Libraries on a daily basis who are in need of basic supplies such as socks, toothbrushes, women's sanitary products, and other toiletries. We would gladly accept donations that we can distribute at our branches as needed. A library branch would be a site where portable showers could be positioned at. Free haircuts, medical care, dental check ups or mental health screenings are the types of programs that could be based at a library branch. We are a great place to distribute written information and referrals.

What services do you provide to the homeless or to those at risk of homelessness?

Libraries are free and open to everyone so our eight branches serve as safe places and shelter for those who may be experiencing homelessness. Libraries also serve to connect people with information. We provide free Wi-Fi and computers with access to the internet. Staff provide information referrals and resources for those seeking employment, and we have social workers on site once a week at our Nilsa Cruz-Perez Branch. All of our branches are designated as Code Blue shelters.

What population do you serve?

The Library technically serves residents in 21 member communities in Camden County. However, our doors and facilities are open to everyone.
